HubSpot is not a niche product you have to be introduced to. It is one of the most widely used sales platforms there is, and a real number of the deal teams we talk to already have a paid seat, usually because a business-development or partnerships person on the same team uses it for outbound. When that team also starts screening acquisition targets, the instinct is to reuse the pipeline that is already open in another tab.
We are selling you something too, so this page is built on claims you can check. Every statement about HubSpot below carries the date we verified it and a link to where.
HubSpot describes Sales Hub as software to manage “the entire sales cycle” on “one AI-powered workspace,” with a deal pipeline, contact records, automated outreach sequences, meeting scheduling, CPQ for quotes, and AI tools for prospecting, guided selling, deal scoring and revenue forecasting.

Read that list again. It is built for a rep closing new revenue against a quota, one lead and one quote at a time. That is a real and valuable job for a huge number of companies. It is also a different job from screening a CIM, sending an NDA, and getting a mandate through diligence.
What HubSpot does that we do not
This section exists because the version of this page without it is not worth reading.
It has a genuine free tier. HubSpot’s CRM is free for up to 2 users, no credit card required, with contact management, live chat, basic email templates and limited automation included. Avise has no free tier and no self-serve signup at all.

- It is a full revenue platform, not just a pipeline. Marketing, sales, service and content tools sit on the same contact record, which is genuinely useful if your firm also runs outbound business development or investor relations through the same system.
- The AI is built for selling, and it is real. A prospecting agent that finds accounts and runs outreach, guided selling that surfaces next actions, deal scoring and forecasting, and conversation intelligence for call coaching. None of it reads a CIM, but all of it is aimed squarely at closing revenue faster.
- It scales to a large, organized sales org. Enterprise-tier permissions, quoting, and reporting are built for a team with dozens of reps and a real ops function behind them, a scale most deal teams we build for do not have and do not need.
- You are probably already paying for it. If your firm runs business development, partnerships or investor relations through HubSpot today, extending the existing pipeline to also track acquisition targets has zero marginal cost in dollars, only in fit.
If the job is running a sales team against a quota, buy HubSpot. Everything below is about the different job: screening inbound deals against a live acquisition mandate.
The three differences that decide it
1. Every paid HubSpot tier is priced per seat
Sales Hub Starter is $20 a month per seat billed monthly, or $7 a month per seat on an introductory annual rate. Professional is $100 a month per seat billed monthly, or $90 annually, plus a one-time $1,500 onboarding fee. Enterprise is $150 a month per seat, plus a one-time $3,500 onboarding fee, and requires a sales conversation to buy.

Add a second reviewer, a rotating intern, or the partner who only looks at deals in the final week, and the bill rises every time. Our price is $249 a month, per firm, whole team included, on the pricing page, where you can read it without talking to anyone.
2. The unit of the product is the contact, not the deal
HubSpot’s deal object is built around a sales pipeline: a contact, a deal stage, a quote, an expected close date. Checked directly, its Sales Hub pages describe no data room, no NDA or e-signature sending, and no financial extraction from a document anywhere in the feature list. A CIM that arrives as a PDF has to be read by a person and typed into a deal property by hand.
Avise is built around the deal itself: the CIM you received, the financials extracted from it, the NDA you sent, the teaser you shared and with whom, the data room, the memo. Two different centers of gravity, and the honest question is which one your team is actually paying rent on right now, in hours spent retyping numbers.
3. Onboarding a real HubSpot tier costs money before month one
Professional and Enterprise Sales Hub each carry a mandatory one-time onboarding fee, $1,500 and $3,500 respectively, on top of the per-seat monthly price. That is a normal cost structure for a platform meant to be configured around a sales org’s process. For a small deal team that wants to be running a live file inside a week, it is a slower and more expensive start than the job requires.

Who should not buy Avise
- Your pipeline is sales, not acquisitions. If the job is a rep working leads to a quota, HubSpot’s prospecting agent, sequences and quoting are built for exactly that and Avise is not a substitute for any of it.
- You need a free tier today. HubSpot’s CRM is free for up to 2 users. Avise has no free tier and no self-serve signup, only a demo.
- You already run marketing, sales and service on one contact record. If investor relations, partnerships and business development all live in the same HubSpot instance today, the switching cost of pulling deal flow out of it is a real cost, not a hypothetical one.
- You want AI aimed at outbound, not documents. HubSpot’s AI tools find accounts and run outreach. If your bottleneck is finding buyers, not reading CIMs, that is a different product than the one we built.
THE ONE QUESTION
Ask what the pipeline is actually for. If the honest answer is “closing revenue against a quota,” keep HubSpot. If the honest answer is “a CIM lands, we screen it, and then a mandate goes through diligence,” that is a different job, and it is the one Avise was built for.
