4Degrees has been in this market for years, and it earned its reputation the way most good relationship software does: by being genuinely useful to a team whose deals come out of a network. It was
founded by ex investors, which the company positions as the reason it understands how a deal team actually works

. If someone tells you it is a bad product, check their sourcing before you believe them.
We are selling you something too, so this page is built on claims you can check. Every statement about 4Degrees below carries the date we verified it and a link to where.
4Degrees describes itself as “the intelligent CRM for relationship driven teams” and “the relationship intelligence and deal flow platform designed by ex investors,” serving venture capital, private equity, investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate development, commercial real estate and consulting.

Read that list again. It is a platform built for a firm whose deal flow runs on who knows whom. That is a real and valuable job. It is also a different job from the one we built Avise to do.
What 4Degrees does that we do not
This section exists because the version of this page without it is not worth reading.
It has a real relationship graph. 4Degrees syncs your firm’s email and calendar traffic to surface who knows whom, how strong the relationship is, and who can make an introduction, and it alerts you when a contact changes jobs or makes news. This is the actual product, not a side feature.

- It reads documents too. Document Intelligence extracts financials, company details and transaction details from CIMs, pitch decks and other PDFs, included with every subscription at no extra cost. If you have read that extraction is a gap in the category, treat that claim as out of date.
- It sits on top of Salesforce, if you already run it. For a firm with an existing Salesforce instance, 4Degrees augments it with relationship intelligence rather than asking you to migrate away.
- It connects to more of your stack. Crunchbase and PitchBook enrichment, Gmail, Outlook, LinkedIn and Chrome extensions, a mobile app, and MCP access from ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot.
- Onboarding comes with a person attached. A dedicated customer success manager, complimentary onboarding, and unlimited chat access to support engineers, which is worth something if your team wants a guide rather than a product to figure out alone.
If your pipeline is built on a partner’s network and the job that eats your week is remembering who can make an introduction, buy 4Degrees. Everything below is a footnote to that sentence.
The three differences that decide it
1. You can see our price
4Degrees states plainly that it charges “on a per user per month model,” then does not publish the number. The page says the exact rate “depends on a few factors specific to your organization and team,” and the only route forward is an email form. No self-serve signup, no free trial.
CHECKED 28 AUG 2026 · 4degrees.ai/pricing
We publish ours: $249 a month, per firm, whole team included, on the pricing page, where you can read it without talking to anyone.
2. We charge per firm, not per person
4Degrees confirms its own model is per user. That is a normal way to price software, and at a firm large enough to negotiate a rate it may land well. At a small team it does the opposite of what a shared deal record needs: it prices the intern and the part time partner out, and the record only stays true for the two people paying for it.
Our unit is the firm. Adding the whole team, intern included, costs nothing extra.
3. The unit of the product is the deal, not the contact
4Degrees is built around the contact: who you know, how well you know them, what has passed between you. Checked directly, its product pages describe pipeline stages, enrichment and reporting, with no data room, no NDA or e-signature sending, and no memo builder anywhere in the feature list.
Avise is built around the deal: the NDA you sent, the teaser you shared and with whom, the data room, the model, the memo. Two different centers of gravity, and the honest question is which one is actually costing your team time right now.

Who should not buy Avise
- Your deals come from your network. If the question that decides a deal is who can make the introduction, the relationship graph is worth more than anything on our feature list.
- You already run Salesforce and want to keep it. 4Degrees augments an existing Salesforce instance. We do not integrate with it, and we are not trying to sit on top of a system you have already invested in.
- You want a dedicated person guiding onboarding. If your team would rather be walked through setup by a customer success manager than import a sheet and run a live deal in a week, that is a real preference and 4Degrees is built for it.
- You need certification today. Avise has SOC 2 Type I in progress and nothing issued yet, and we publish that on the security page rather than in a footnote. 4Degrees lists GDPR, CCPA and CASA Tier 2 on its security page. Ask them directly about SOC 2 if that is your bar, since their page does not say either way.
THE ONE QUESTION
Ask what actually starts a deal at your firm. If the honest answer is “someone in our network,” buy 4Degrees. If the honest answer is “a mandate lands and then a document shows up,” the job that follows is ours.
