AVISE · A HOUSE FOR YOUR FIRM'S DEAL FLOW
§ 00 · POSITIONING
It’s the NDA, the teaser, the contact nobody can find and the follow-up nobody sent. Avise keeps all of it on the deal, so the twenty minutes come back each time.
WHAT IT IS
Deal flow software for small teams and search funds, built by a buy-side advisory firm on its own mandates first. The longer version.

§ 01 · THE WEEK
Nothing on this list takes an hour. Fifteen or twenty minutes, half a dozen times a day, and by Friday the week has gone somewhere nobody can point to.
Forty tabs of presentations open in a chat window. The files you uploaded two weeks ago have expired. Finding last month's read takes longer than doing it again.
The follow-up you meant to send on Tuesday. The broker still waiting on the signed NDA. Spreadsheets do not chase anyone.
Sheets duct-taped to a CRM. A data room bought for one process. A separate signature tool. Teams here run eleven or more at once, and the deal lives in the gaps.
AMBER MARKS A WAIT THAT HAS RUN PAST YOUR OWN THRESHOLD, OR A DEAL WITH NOBODY’S NAME ON IT
§ 02 · SEE IT
Before you give up half an hour for a call. Ungated, no form in front of it.
§ 03 · THE HOUSE
Monday's teaser, Tuesday's NDA, the person who introduced you and the memo your investors will read are one deal. Avise keeps them that way.
A board across sourcing, due diligence, IOI, LOI and close, with the timeline, tasks and team roles on every deal. Bring your book in by CSV, Excel or paste.
Scored 0–100 on recency, frequency and deal involvement, banded cold to strong. Enrichment, duplicate detection, a network view, CSV in and out.
Five default folders on every deal, cross-folder search, scoped links, document requests and in-browser preview. Folder summaries for the afternoon forty files land at once.
Three reading layers, including vision for scanned pages, then a verification pass that cross-checks every value against the source text and retries up to three times.
Thirteen modules run off the extracted figures, no further input: quality of earnings, ratios, DuPont, EBITDA bridge, revenue quality, cash flow, working capital, cost structure, debt capacity and LBO screen, red flags, cross-document consistency, benchmarking, valuation screen.
Reusable templates with drag-to-reorder sections, drafted from the deal's own data and linked back to the figures behind them. Export when the committee wants paper.
§ 04 · WHY TEAMS MOVE
Import what you have, run one live deal through it, judge it on how the week feels.

| THE JOB | SHEETS, INBOX, CHAT WINDOW | AVISE |
|---|---|---|
| Sending an NDA | Find the last one, change the names, attach it, then try to remember who has it. | Send it from the deal. The request is logged against the counterparty. |
| Sharing a teaser | Zip and email, or buy a data room for one process. | A link scoped to one folder, previewed in the browser. |
| Finding a contact | Search two inboxes and a spreadsheet somebody else maintains. | One book, scored on recency and the deals you have run together. |
| Reading a set of numbers | Re-key the figures into a fresh tab and hope the tab survives. | Extracted, with the source page carried beside each figure. |
| What last quarter taught you | Wherever the person who ran it happened to leave it. | On the deal, still there when the same seller comes back. |
| Getting a colleague up to speed | A phone call, a folder link and a lot of context you cannot send. | Access to the deal, and the timeline of everything they missed. |
BUT WE COULD BUILD THIS IN A CHAT WINDOW
Some of it, yes. We did, for a while. Building the tool was never the hard part. A chat has no memory between chats: the deal you screened in March is gone by June, and your colleague’s analysis sits in an account you cannot open.
Avise keeps the context, so it is there when that seller or broker comes back around. And it belongs to the firm, not to whoever happened to run it.
WHO THIS IS BUILT FOR
§ 05 · WHY WE BUILT IT
A dozen-plus buy-side mandates, for search funds, private equity firms, and VC-backed startups buying for the first time. Avise came out of that work, and our own mandates went through it before anybody else's did.
That mixed client base is why it is not shaped like one firm’s habits. A search fund screening inbound all week, a private equity team running three processes at once and a first-time acquirer do not work the same way, so what Avise fitted was the small jobs underneath all three: the deal, its documents, its contacts, its follow-ups and its numbers in one place.
It is also the honest answer to the two questions we get asked most. Why not build it yourself in a chat window? We tried, and it forgot everything. Why trust a young company with your deal data? Our own deals were the first ones in it.
WHO RUNS ON IT
Both are also buy-side advisory clients of ours: they hired the team and they run on the software. There is no testimonial attached to either name. If they want to say something about Avise, it will be in their words rather than ours.
§ 06 · NEXT
Not a sample we prepared. Yours, with its scanned pages and its inconsistent tabs. Thirty minutes: send an NDA out of it, share a folder, see what Avise reads and what it flags.
SECURITY POSTURE
Every organisation is isolated from every other. Access is role-based (admin, member, viewer, ops) with per-deal team membership on top. A request for another organisation’s record returns a 404 rather than a refusal, so nothing can be enumerated. The audit log is insert-only, covers more than 25 event types and is retained for two years. Data is hosted in the United States.
COMPLIANCE · STATED PLAINLY
Avise has SOC 2 Type I in progress, with Type II to follow. Our infrastructure sub-processors hold SOC 2 Type II in their own right. That is their certification, not ours, and we will always draw the line there. A data processing agreement, and the named sub-processor list, are available on request; deletion is supported. The full position is on the security page.
